**This kit was designed on a Boxster / Cayman setup.**
Oil starvation and high oil temperature has been a well known problem with many Porsche racing vehicles. This kit was designed to help oil starvation of the M96/M97 engines as well as lower engine oil operating temperatures substantially. The TRS heat exchange delete plate is put in place of the factory heat exchanger which is prone to water/oil intrusion. The 19 row oil cooler that is connected between the heat exchange and the accusump canister will help to drastically lower engine oil operating temperature when placed in an area with high flow of air. A 3 quart high pressure accusump to provide pre-oiling and surge protection coupled with a 35-40PSI electric valve. This is an off-road use “race” kit only.
This is the high pressure kit we run specifically in our TuneRS Motorsports built 986 spec boxsters.
The kit includes the following:
- 3 Qt High Pressure Accusump
- 19 Row External Oil Cooler
- Oil cooler support brackets
- TRS Heat Exchanger Delete (with fittings)
- AN10 Braided Hose (specific length of hose provided)
- AN10 fittings (not attached to hose)
- 35-40 PSI Electric Valve
- Check Valve
- Remote Oil Filter Adapter with spin on racing oil filter
- 2x stainless clamps for accusump
- On/Off switch with wiring
The Setrab oil cooler offers durability, performance and the best flow. It employs an in-line turbulator to gently stir the fluid being cooled thereby insuring the fluid has exposure to the entire internal surface area of the oil cooler with the least amount of pressure lost. These oil coolers are fully brazed to the entire internal length of the tube resulting in “zero” heat transfer barrier and high strength.
The heat exchanger delete plate eliminates the factory oil cooler that has the possibility of failure leading to water/oil intrusion. This plate is billet machined and comes with the proper hardware for installation. This is required when installing an external oil cooler and comes with the kit.
The 3 Quart Accusump is ideal for V-8 and high horsepower V-6 and 4 cylinders engines. It is the original and has been providing pre-oiling and surge protection in all types of racing and recreational vehicles for over 30 years. Has a 16″ long and 4-1/4″ dia. body.
The accusump also comes with a 35-40PSI electric valve kit (the Pro version from Canton Racing). This Electric Pressure Control Valve Kit is for a discharge/refill of 35-40 PSI. These valves have the convenience of an electric valve for remote mounted units and the rapid refill rate of a manual valve as required in racing. The E.P.C. valving will only allow the Accusump to discharge oil when the engine’s oil pressure drops below a predetermined level and only refill when the pressure rises above that level. The Pro version valve features a more durable piston style design, an integrated pressure port and a machined aluminum body.
The kit is supplied with a remote filter holder with a Wix Racing oil filter. This filter is a higher capacity than the smaller spin-on filters on the market. This filter has a greater burst pressure of up to 500psi designed to take pressure spikes in race engines that have higher oil pressure. This filter also diminishes dry starts under cold cranking conditions due to its low restriction design & internal anti-drain back valve assuring immediate flow.
