PFR57-106 has been designed to replace the rear trailing arm front bushing where the arm locates onto the chassis. These bushings are no longer available from Porsche unless you buy the complete arm at a substantial cost of $1,700 – $1,800. The RS model had a stiffer bushing fitted over the standard non RS models, the Powerflex bushing will upgrade the standard bushings to a similar stiffness to that of the RS version. PFR57-106 comes with Oil Lite bearings to allow the arm to pivot freely allowing the suspension to work with no loading from the bushing with positive location.

OEM suspension bushings are manufactured from a rubber compound which deteriorates with age. They become softer and more pliable, resisting the forces applied less and less. These tired rubber pieces allow more and more movement of suspension components and offer less and less control over suspension geometry as they age.
Worn parts cause excessive tire wear, braking instability and poor handling. In fact, bushings are the single biggest reason you can instantly tell the difference between an older car and a new one. However, even new cars will benefit from POWERFLEX bushings because of their superior design; they offer much more effective control of the suspension components.
Powerflex bushings are made using a proprietary urethane material, which unlike many common “urethanes” in the market, overcome the common noise and harshness problems associated with harder bushings. By correctly engineering the polyurethane compound, bushings can be made 25-30% stiffer than new rubber items with the same noise absorbing properties.
